Pre-Race Check In

Check in will happen at Wild Iris Mountain Sports on Friday before the race. Racers will pick up their assigned bib and t-shirt.

Directions to the Start/Finish

The race is located 10 miles from downtown Lander. From Lander, turn south on 5th or 9th Street and turn right/west onto Fremont St/Sinks Canyon Highway/WY 131 toward Sinks Canyon State Park. Drive all the way up the canyon until you see Forest Service signs for Bruce’s parking lot/trail head. We will allow a limited number of first-comers to park in the lot and then will direct people to park in the shoulder along the highway to ensure other Forest users have access to the trails.

Toilets

There are 2 permanent pit toilets and 2 portable toilets at the start/finish line. Pit toilets are available along the 50K race at 3 locations and the 18K course at 1 location. Please see aid station descriptions for mile markers and locations. While on course and away from facilities please follow Leave No Trace principles.

Aid Station and Post Race Food

All aid station and post race food is provided for racers only. Please be courteous and take only what is needed. We have done our best to provide food that is allergen friendly- gluten and nut free, and dairy free options. Post race food will be provided by our favorite local restaurant, The Middle Fork. Soda and lemonade will also be available for all racers.

Please note: Beer will no longer be provided at the finish line to meet USFS guidelines. To fulfill your beer needs, bring your race bib to the Lander Bar or Cowfish anytime during race weekend to enjoy a complementary beer!

Coffee

Our local coffee roaster, Speedgoat Coffee Roasting Co., will be setting up shop at the start area to energize the runners and spectators. Racers will receive a coupon for a discounted price. Don’t forget to bring your own mug! It would also be a good idea to purchase a bag or two to ensure you are properly fueled in months to come!

Dogs

We know your 4-legged companions are an important part of your life. Your dog may be perfectly behaved and great around other people. However, please keep your dogs at home or arrange for a kennel. Lander has a couple of options if you plan on traveling with your dog. Please, do not leave your dog in your car or tied to your vehicle. There is little to no shade at the start/finish area.

Race T-shirts

The race logo was designed by local artist, Maggie Heller and t-shirts by Snow Deep Screen Printing and Design. Registrants after June 1st, may not be guaranteed a t-shirt. T-shirts are first reserved for those who registered before June 1st. Extra t-shirts will distributed as “first come, first serve” at the check in on Friday for any registrants after June 1st.

Limiting Waste

We are a cupless, plateless, and forkless race. Please be prepared with your fueling containers during and after the race. Aid station will not provide any cups. All 50k racers must run with some sort of bottle or cup. Thank you for your efforts in saving our planet!

Wyoming Weather

It being June in Wyoming, you can expect searing sun, dumping snow, driving rain, or some combination of the three! Hope for the best but come prepared for the worst! Even in perfect weather, this will be a challenging race! HERE is the most accurate weather forecast for Bruce’s Parking Area.

About Sinks Canyon

While the race does not technically enter Sinks Canyon State Park, we highly recommend that you spend some time here enjoying this amazing area. This area is rich in western history, geologic wonders, diverse wildlife and breathtaking scenery.

Registration Cancelations

We get it, sometimes your plans don’t always go the way you thought. If you need to cancel your registration, log into your Ultrasignup account and drop down to “registration history.” Then, click “cancel order” next to the race.
