Course Description

Frolic through cool pine forests and gorgeous wildflower filled meadows along the rumbling Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River.  This is a great race for anyone looking for a fun and interesting challenge.

From the start at Bruce’s Parking Area: Head down canyon on a rocky trail until you reach your first junction. Turn left and head down along the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River. When you reach the picnic table near the Forest Service Campground, turn left over the small foot bridge. Continue past (not over) the larger bridge on the single track trail. Follow the river down canyon loop towards the Aspen Grade Trail. When you hit the Aspen Grade junction, turn left to head up a steep and technical trail for about 3/4 of a mile. You will meet up with the Brewer’s Trail at the next junction where you will turn left to head up trail unit you meet up with the Loop Road for your first aid station.

Brewer’s Junction AS: Run up the paved road for about 3/4 of a mile and get off the road to the right of the switch back. From there you’ll ascend up the “snowmobile track” (there is no snow, I promise) through wildflowers, meadows, and lot’s of rocks. Turn left on a brand new, but smooth, single track to go to the Fossil Hill Aid Station.

Fossil Hill AS: Leave the Aid Station on the trail between the pit toilet and forest service sign. This trail will eventually cross the road below the cattle guard and meet up with the Brewer’s Trail. Traverse along side Fossil Hill, catch the views of the Wind River Mountains, smell the wild flowers, then plunge back down into the Sinks Canyon on semi-technical single track. Stay on Brewer’s trail until you reach the bottom of the canyon, head left and run on the 2-track for 1/2 mile until you are back at the Parking Area for the finish line.

The finish line closes at 4:00 pm. No other cutoff times will be enforced.
